From 13-15 October 2025, we hosted the hybrid meeting of the GUNi-ICA Strategic Council, which brought together rectors, vice-rectors, and senior university leaders from around the world. Participants from Spain, Palestine, Portugal, Kyrgyzstan, Malaysia, India, Chile, Côte d’Ivoire, and Ecuador, along with the GUNi team, convened to discuss the future of higher education and review the strategic projects of GUNi-ICA members.
Representing our university within GUNi were Prof. Dr. Berrin Yanıkkaya, Vice-Chair of the 2025 GUNi Strategic Council and Director of YU-LEARNT, and Prof. Dr. F. Yeşim Ekinci, Coordinator of International Academic Relations. Within GUNi framework, each member university develops its own strategic project with the support of mentors and collaborative workshops.
As part of this process, our Centre welcomed guests to a series of online and in-person workshops focused on leadership and institutional transformation. GUNi-ICA members also visited our university's Genetics Laboratory and the Istanbul Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art.
Following the three-day programme, participants left our campus with new partnership ideas and project proposals, further strengthening global collaboration in higher education.
