OBJECTIVE OF THE PROGRAMME

The programme aims to support academic staff in continuously developing their skills and competencies in in-person, online, and hybrid teaching and learning environments by combining the opportunities and techniques of traditional in-person education with those offered by e-learning, and to design learning pathways in line with developments in the field of educational sciences.

OBJECTIVES 

  • To enhance and update the pedagogical knowledge, skills, and competencies of academic staff through hybrid train-the-trainer programmes and modular training.
  • To develop the digital literacy skills of academic staff and to strengthen their knowledge and competencies in the use of Learning Management Systems (LMS).
  • To produce instructional videos on the use and features of digital platforms utilised in teaching and learning processes for academic staff.

2026 ACTIVITIES 

Within the YU-Teach sub-unit, the “Educators’ Education Programme,” which constitutes one of the core areas of activity and is designed for the academic staff of the University, was continued in 2025 as a continuation of the process initiated in 2024.

Within the scope of the programme, five core online training modules (Classroom Management, Instructional Planning, Teaching Approaches, Technological Tools in Teaching and Learning, and Evaluation and Assessment) continued to be made available via the YULearnMoodle platform.

Following the completion of the online modules and in-person workshops by the first group of participants, a second group of academic staff was enrolled in the system with broader participation. In 2025, a total of 17 academic staff members successfully completed the existing online modules. A in-person workshop was organised for this group, and certification was provided.

In addition to the Educators’ Education Programme, the YU-Teach sub-unit assigned the TEACH 102.1 Academic Advising Skills training module, developed based on the Academic Advising Handbook, to faculty members of the Faculty of Medicine upon request. A total of 20 participants completed the training and became eligible to receive certificates.
